Grease is the story of a group of teenagers (the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds) entering their senior year at Rydell High School in 1959. This group of fun-loving hormone-charged kids are made up of the following characters:
SANDY – The new girl. Had a summer fling with Danny and is awkwardly trying to make her way through a new environment and culture.
DANNY – Typical male lead type. Good looking and entitled, Danny often confuses his male privilege with charm.
RIZZO – Tough and sassy and currently going through a pregnancy scare. Sometimes seen as the most important character in the play.
FRENCHY – Adorable and good natured, Frenchy is all about flavor and style and has dreams of becoming a beautician.
MARTY – Often comes off as older and mature until she speaks, revealing her to be just another kid trying to make it through the labyrinth of high school life.
ROGER – The class clown whose comments and antics often borderline abuse.
KENICKIE – A wannabe tough guy who may be the father of Rizzo’s possible baby. Struggles with how to show compassion for those he cares about.
PATTY – The understated athlete, Patty is confident, funny, and a crucial part of the Pink Ladies unity
CHA CHA – A beast on the dance floor, Cha Cha doesn’t say much vocally, but her spicy presence is a crucial part of the Pink Ladies chemistry.
